Dealing with Jealousy
Jealousy, envy, evil eye, mal de ojo
As I mentioned in a previous post, there's a lot of ways to react to jealousy. But today isn't about your jealousy.
It's about when other people are jealous of you.
The Mundane
First, and foremost, remember you're number one. Remember that first. Take care of you. I highly encourage giving yourself a moment to feel the emotions but all I can really say is never let yourself get stuck there. Move into action as soon as possible.
I found myself, and on occasion, still find myself stuck here... wondering what was started this, trying to figure out what happened. I would endlessly try to rationalize then I realized this was a useless endeavor (usually).
My personal factors of consideration: does it actually matter and how much? is there a plan to confront the behavior? was there an attempt to communicate?
With these things in mind, it wouldn't be a surprise to find that I basically only give the time of the day to people who are family to me (that is, it absolutely matters to me, a lot; I'm willing to have a sit down about it, even if they gave no prior signs that there was a problem to begin with). Other people have a chance, but I don't know them like that for me to be able to pick up subtle signs so I need communication to be direct, which is also a confrontation of the behavior.
My stance is simple. It is not my job to try to figure out what your problem is. It's not with me, it's within them. I don't need or want to expend the time, energy or space to be bothered with anyone else's hurt feelings over my abundances.
The point is draw your lines where you will in order to take care of yourself.
The Spiritual
Don't try to put anyone else's hair mask on before you put on yours. Cleanse and protect yourself then move on to covering other your loved ones.
In my book, there is a third step with a lot of range and dimension. It can be as simple as a return to sender or a revocation. It can be a whole lot more if required.
In the roots
Option 1: Reversal/Return to Sender
Materials: plate, cup (heat resistant for both), water and a candle (black or white)
Step 1: Fill the cup with water*
Step 2: Cover the cup with the plate.
Step 3: Flip the cup-plate duo over so the bottom of the cup faces the sky.
Step 4: Place the candle on top of the cup (that is, the bottom of the candle and the bottom of the cup meet)
Step 5: Light your candle.*
The asterisks (*) indicate where I would pray but you can pray through the full set up or only after you're fully set up. Just get it done however you have to get it done.
A simple prayer: I return any and all, known or unknown, negative energy back to the sender to be manifested ten times over what they asked for me.
Other interesting options are to load the water with whatever else you would like in order to further create the effects you want. You can also put some on the candle itself or put an conjure oil on it. Either way, be mindful that if you put it on the candle, there is a risk of overwhelming the candle (especially if not free-standing, like a chime or taper).
Option 2: Revocation
There are lots of things that make a revocation different from a reversal but I was taught that the primary difference is the calling upon St. Michael in order to do so.
Follow the same steps as above but with the Revocation of St. Michael prayers.
Option 3: Two-toned return to sender candle
One can find this item in botanicas, physical and online. Some offer a fixed version (meaning, it's loaded with materials for you already) but I personally prefer loading them myself.
The candle works the same as the first option, with similar options of placing material in the candle and similar safety awarenesses.
There are a million ways to skin a cat and you should explore every reasonable option to find what exactly works for you and how you live life.
